O Cosmedics Retinoic Oil is a nourishing Vitamin A face oil designed for dry, dehydrated, sensitive and barrier-impaired skin that may not tolerate traditional Retinol. Powered by Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate (HPR), a direct-acting Retinoic Ester, it supports collagen production, elasticity and gentle cell renewal to improve fine lines, firmness and visible signs of ageing without intensive resurfacing.
Unlike traditional Retinol, which requires conversion within the skin, HPR interacts directly with retinoic acid receptors. Biomimetic Squalane replenishes moisture and supports barrier function, while Hydroxymethoxyphenyl Decanone (H.M.P.D.) provides antioxidant, soothing and barrier-strengthening support. Together, they allow Vitamin A correction to work alongside the hydration and nourishment delicate skin often needs.
With just five ingredients, the lightweight oil leaves skin feeling supple, nourished and comfortable. It layers easily after water, gel or lotion-based serums and before your O Cosmedics moisturiser, providing a simple evening step for supporting smoother, firmer and more resilient-looking skin.

SKIN DEEP MEDISPA EXPERT VERDICT
Our rating: 4.9/5
O Cosmedics Retinoic Oil is one I reach for when I want to introduce or retain Vitamin A in a routine but the skin isn't a good candidate for traditional Retinol. I particularly like it for dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin, and for people who have repeatedly found that Retinol leaves their skin flaky, uncomfortable or reactive. What makes this useful for me clinically is that I don't have to choose between addressing signs of ageing and looking after the skin barrier. I can still target concerns such as fine lines, firmness and elasticity while giving the skin the nourishment it needs to remain comfortable and resilient.
BEST FOR
Dry • Dehydrated • Sensitive • Barrier-Impaired • Fine Lines • Ageing
I wouldn't choose O Cosmedics Retinoic Oil when excessive oil, stubborn congestion or intensive resurfacing are the priority. In those cases, another O Cosmedics Vitamin A formula may be more appropriate. This is the option I favour when skin condition and tolerance need to carry just as much weight as the concern we're treating.

🔥 OUR HOT TIP
With Retinoic Oil, more isn't better. I recommend sticking to around ¼ of a dropper and giving it time to absorb before applying your hydrator. Using too much won't increase the Vitamin A benefit and can simply leave the skin feeling unnecessarily oily.

“I had tried Retinol a couple of times before and always ended up with dry, flaky skin, so I was hesitant to try Vitamin A again. This has been completely different for me. My skin feels nourished rather than stripped and after a couple of months it looks smoother and more even.”
Renee, Ballarat VIC
“My skin has become much drier and more sensitive over the last few years and I wanted something for fine lines without aggravating it. I use this every night and love the way my skin feels in the morning. Soft, comfortable and not greasy.”
Brooke, Perth WA
“I originally bought this because my usual Retinol was becoming too much for my skin. I really like the oil texture and only need a small amount. I've noticed the biggest improvement in how supple my skin feels and the fine lines around my cheeks don't look as pronounced.”
Amelia, Hobart TAS
