O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA is a professional-strength Vitamin C powder booster designed to brighten uneven skin tone, improve clarity and support firmer, more radiant-looking skin. Featuring pure L-Ascorbic Acid supported by encapsulated Salicylic Acid, it delivers freshly activated Vitamin C when mixed into a water-based O Cosmedics corrective serum or hydrator.

The formula combines the antioxidant and pigment-correcting benefits of Vitamin C with an oil-soluble BHA that helps clarify pores, reduce excess sebum and refine congestion. Salicylic Acid also improves the solubility and delivery of the Vitamin C, making this a particularly targeted option when dullness, uneven pigmentation or visible sun damage occur alongside oiliness, congestion or thicker skin texture.

Kept in powder form until application, the L-Ascorbic Acid remains protected until the point of activation. Mixed fresh each morning with your chosen water-based serum or hydrator, it adds concentrated Vitamin C correction without introducing another standalone serum into the routine.

SKIN DEEP MEDISPA EXPERT VERDICT
Our rating: 4.8/5
I recommend O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA quite selectively, which is exactly why I rate it highly for the right skin. I particularly like it when I'm treating pigmentation, dullness or visible sun damage in skin that is also oily, congested or noticeably thicker in texture, because those concerns don't always need another conventional serum layered into the routine. The powder format lets me add freshly activated Vitamin C to an existing water-based corrective serum or hydrator, while the Salicylic Acid makes the formula especially relevant when pore clarity and excess oil also need attention. It isn't the Vitamin C I choose for everyone, but for resilient skin with this combination of concerns, it gives me a very specific corrective tool rather than simply adding another general brightening product.

BEST FOR
Oily/Combination • Congestion • Dull • Uneven Tone • Visible Ageing

I wouldn't choose O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA on the basis that a higher-intensity Vitamin C must produce a better result. Sensitive or reactive skin is not where I would start with this formula; I'd recommend O Cosmedics Vitamin C Hemp Seed Oil for sensitive skin instead. The condition of the skin matters just as much as the concern we're trying to correct.

🔥 OUR HOT TIP
The product may be called Pure C + BHA, but don't treat it like a separate powder step. I recommend mixing it thoroughly into your chosen water-based serum or hydrator in your fingertips immediately before application. This is what activates the powder and gives you an even application across the skin. Start with ¼ scoop rather than assuming you need the maximum ½ scoop from day one.

Key Ingredients

✓ L-Ascorbic Acid 98% – The pure, chirally correct form of Vitamin C used as the principal functional active. It provides powerful antioxidant support, helps brighten dull and uneven skin through tyrosinase-inhibiting activity and supports visible firmness and collagen production.
✓ Encapsulated Salicylic Acid 2% – An oil-soluble BHA delivered using liposome technology to help improve stability while working within the pores to dissolve excess sebum, reduce the appearance of congestion and refine skin texture. It also assists Vitamin C solubility and delivery within the mixed formula.

Ingredients: L-Ascorbic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch.

Free from parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals and mineral oils, with no artificial colours, harsh preservatives or harsh synthetic fragrances. Vegan-friendly, gluten-free and cruelty-free. The formula is emulsifier-free and biomimetic.

How To Use

Use every morning on freshly cleansed skin.

Mix ¼ to ½ scoop of O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA into your chosen water-based O Cosmedics corrective serum or moisturiser. Blend together on your fingertips and apply immediately over the face, neck and décolletage. Finish with O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF.

Important: Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you are allergic to Aspirin, due to the Salicylic Acid content. Do not mix or apply Pure C + BHA alongside Retinol or other Vitamin A correctors in the same routine.

FAQs

Why is O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA a powder instead of a Vitamin C serum?
Pure L-Ascorbic Acid is highly effective but can lose stability once exposed to water, air and light. Keeping Pure C + BHA in powder form means the Vitamin C remains inactive until you mix it with your O Cosmedics serum or moisturiser immediately before application. We particularly like this format because you're activating the Vitamin C fresh each morning rather than relying on a pre-mixed Vitamin C formula that has been sitting in solution.

What is the difference between O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA and Vitamin C Hemp Seed Oil?
We choose these two Vitamin C products for quite different skin profiles. O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA is our preference when pigmentation, dullness or sun damage occur alongside excess oil, congestion or thicker, more resilient skin. O Cosmedics Vitamin C Hemp Seed Oil is the option we are more likely to choose when the skin is dry, dehydrated or sensitive and would benefit from additional lipid nourishment. Neither is simply the “stronger” or “better” Vitamin C. We choose according to what the skin actually needs.

Can O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA help with pigmentation and sun damage?
Yes. Pure L-Ascorbic Acid provides antioxidant support and helps address uneven pigmentation while supporting collagen and firmer-looking skin, making O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA particularly relevant for visible sun damage, dark spots and uneven tone. For persistent pigmentation, however, we wouldn't rely on Vitamin C alone. We generally look at the entire routine, including appropriate pigment-correcting products and consistent daily SPF.

Is O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA good for oily, congested or breakout-prone skin?
This is actually one of the situations where we particularly like O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA. The formula combines Vitamin C with encapsulated Salicylic Acid, which can work within oily pores to help reduce excess sebum and congestion. It makes good sense when someone wants to address post-breakout pigmentation or dullness but also needs their Vitamin C product to work comfortably within an oily or congestion-prone routine.

Is O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA suitable for sensitive skin?
O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA wouldn't generally be our first Vitamin C choice for sensitive or reactive skin. The combination of pure L-Ascorbic Acid and Salicylic Acid is better suited to skin with greater tolerance for corrective actives. For dry, sensitive or easily reactive skin, we are more likely to recommend O Cosmedics Vitamin C Hemp Seed Oil, which uses an oil-soluble form of Vitamin C in a nourishing lipid-rich formula. If you're unsure which Vitamin C your skin will tolerate, we'd recommend asking us before choosing between the two.

Can I use O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA with Retinol or Vitamin A
Yes, they can form part of the same overall routine, but we wouldn't use them together in the same application. We generally recommend O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA in the morning and Vitamin A in the evening. This gives each corrective active its own place in the routine and helps avoid unnecessarily increasing the amount of stimulation the skin receives at one time.

Can I use O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
No. Because O Cosmedics Pure C + BHA contains Salicylic Acid, we wouldn't recommend it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It should also be avoided if you have an Aspirin allergy. If you're looking for a Vitamin C option during pregnancy, we would assess your skin and recommend a more appropriate alternative rather than simply removing the BHA step from your existing routine.

★★★★★

“I have oily skin and quite a few old marks from breakouts, so I wanted Vitamin C without adding another heavy serum. I mix a small amount into my morning serum and my skin looks noticeably brighter and clearer. Once I got used to measuring the powder, it became a really easy step.”

Jess, Brisbane QLD

★★★★★

“Sun spots and general dullness were my main reasons for trying this. I started with a quarter scoop and have used it consistently every morning. My complexion looks fresher and more even, and I like that I can add it to a serum I'm already using rather than layering another product.”

Amanda, Bendigo VIC

★★★★★

“My skin gets quite congested through my T-zone and this made more sense for me than a Vitamin C oil. I mix it into my serum and it disappears completely. After a couple of months my skin looks clearer and the rough texture around my nose and chin has definitely improved.”

Nicole, Hobart TAS
