O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted is a nourishing mineral sunscreen that delivers broad-spectrum SPF 50 UVA and UVB protection without added cosmetic tint. Formulated with 24.986% Zinc Oxide, it helps protect against UV-related skin damage while providing a moisturising finish for skin that prefers a richer sunscreen.

Antioxidant-rich Kakadu Plum Extract and Vitamin E complement the mineral UV filter, helping support the skin against environmental oxidative stress. The oil-based formula offers additional comfort for dry and dehydrated complexions, making daily sun protection feel more like a nourishing skincare step than a lightweight sunscreen.

Unlike the tinted version, O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted contains no complexion-enhancing tint. Its creamy consistency leaves a moisturising finish that works well for normal-to-dry, mature and dehydration-prone skin, whether worn alone or as the final skincare step before makeup.

SKIN DEEP MEDISPA EXPERT VERDICT
Our rating: 4.8/5
I particularly like O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted for someone who wants high-level mineral sun protection without any added cosmetic tint. It's a sunscreen I would consider for normal-to-dry, dehydrated or mature skin, especially when someone prefers a more nourishing, moisturising finish rather than a lightweight or matte formula. What I appreciate is that it combines a high concentration of Zinc Oxide with antioxidant skincare ingredients, so it feels like a considered addition to a daily skin health routine rather than simply another SPF. That said, I wouldn't automatically recommend it for oily skin or someone who prefers an almost weightless sunscreen. I also wouldn't make it my first choice for someone managing melasma, where a tinted formula containing iron oxides may offer additional benefits against visible light. For the right skin type and preferences, though, I think it's an excellent option for making high-level daily sun protection a consistent habit.

BEST FOR
Normal to Dry Skin • Dehydrated Skin • Mature • Sensitive

For someone who likes this level of protection but wants a more complexion-evening finish, I would consider O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Tinted. If a lighter texture is the priority, I would compare the SPF 30 options, while taking individual sun exposure and protection needs into account.

🔥 OUR HOT TIP
Because O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted already has a nourishing, oil-based texture, I often recommend simplifying the skincare underneath it, particularly for normal-to-dry skin. A hydrating serum may be all you need before applying your SPF, rather than layering a rich moisturiser as well. This can make a noticeable difference to how comfortably the sunscreen wears throughout the day, without compromising on hydration or protection.

How To Use

Apply O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 - Untinted every morning as the final step in your skincare routine.

Apply generously and evenly to clean, dry skin at least 20 minutes before sun exposure. Extend application beyond the face to the neck, ears and other exposed areas as required.

Reapply at least every 2 hours, and after swimming, sweating or towel drying.

If wearing makeup, allow the sunscreen to settle before applying complexion products over the top.

Always follow the directions on the product label. Sunscreen is only one part of sun protection. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and use protective clothing, a hat, sunglasses and shade where appropriate.

FAQs

Is O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted a mineral sunscreen?
Yes. O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted contains 24.986% Zinc Oxide as its active UV filter, providing broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection against UVA and UVB radiation. It is an Australian TGA-listed sunscreen, AUST L 387939.

Will O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted leave a white cast?
Although this formula has a luminous, low-white-cast finish, the appearance of untinted Zinc Oxide can vary depending on skin tone. We recommend considering the finish on your own complexion, particularly if you have a medium-to-deep skin tone. If visible residue is a concern, O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Tinted may be a better option. We wouldn't recommend reducing the amount of sunscreen applied to minimise a white cast.

Is O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted suitable for sensitive or rosacea-prone skin?
Zinc-based sunscreens can be a good option for sensitive or redness-prone skin, but we wouldn't automatically recommend every mineral formula for rosacea. O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted has a vanilla and coconut scent, which is worth considering if your skin reacts to fragranced products. For highly reactive skin or during a rosacea flare, we recommend reviewing the complete formula and individual skin tolerance before introducing it.

What is the difference between O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted and O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Tinted?
Both formulas offer broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection with a nourishing, oil-based texture. The main difference is the cosmetic finish. O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted provides protection without added complexion colour, while O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Tinted contains mineral pigments to help create a more even-looking skin tone. We generally recommend choosing according to your skin tone, preferred finish and whether you want any cosmetic coverage from your sunscreen.

Is O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted suitable for oily or acne-prone skin?
It can be, although we would assess your skin's texture preferences before recommending it. O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted has a richer, oil-based consistency, which may feel too nourishing for someone with significant oiliness. However, acne-prone skin can also be dehydrated, so a richer sunscreen isn't automatically unsuitable. We recommend choosing an SPF that feels comfortable, doesn't aggravate your individual skin concerns and is easy to wear consistently.

Can O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted replace my morning moisturiser?
For some skin types, yes. Its nourishing formula may provide enough comfort without an additional moisturiser, particularly when paired with a lightweight hydrating serum. We often recommend assessing how your skin feels throughout the day before adding extra layers. If your skin is very dry or your barrier is compromised, you may still benefit from a dedicated moisturiser underneath.

Is O Cosmedics Mineral Pro SPF 50 Untinted suitable for pigmentation and melasma?
Broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection is an important part of managing pigmentation because UV exposure can contribute to darkening and recurrence. However, melasma can also be aggravated by visible light, particularly in deeper skin tones. For this reason, we may recommend a tinted sunscreen containing iron oxides as part of a pigmentation-focused routine, rather than relying on an untinted SPF alone.

“My skin has become drier over the past few years and I like that I don't need a heavy moisturiser underneath this sunscreen. It has a nice creamy texture.”
